Our Sourcing Practices
At MF RAW, we believe every product should have a purpose. That’s why we’re committed to sourcing responsibly, reducing waste, and supporting small family farms.
We proudly partner with trusted family-owned farms and suppliers throughout Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Tennessee. By sourcing from these small businesses, every purchase you make helps support not only our family-owned business, but other hardworking farming families as well.
We partner with local family farms that share our ethics and high standards for animal welfare. All of our meat products are freshly frozen, going straight from the farm to the freeze-dryer, and then to your home. Grazing animals are raised with access to open space, fresh air, sunshine, and natural diets of grasses and hay, along with proper veterinary care when needed. We follow strict animal-welfare guidelines to ensure every animal is treated with compassion.
Whole Prey
Our whole prey items are ethically sourced from animals that passed from natural causes. In many cases, these animals would otherwise be discarded. Instead of allowing them to go to waste, we carefully preserve them to provide species-appropriate nutrition for carnivorous pets.
Meat Cuts & Animal Parts
Many of our rabbit, duck, lamb, beef, and other animal parts come from animals that have already been processed for human consumption. These cuts are perfectly nutritious but are often not utilized in the human food market and would otherwise become waste.
Rather than allowing these valuable parts to be discarded, we give them a second purpose by creating wholesome treats and chews for pets.
How We Prepare Our Products
Every product is carefully inspected before preparation. Depending on the item, we may wash, trim excess fat, portion, slice, or dice it before gently preserving it through freeze-drying or low-temperature dehydration. These methods naturally preserve the product while helping retain flavor and nutrients without artificial preservatives, fillers, or additives.
Wild-Caught Fish
Our fish is wild-caught from Lake Michigan, providing a natural source of protein and beneficial nutrients for your pets.
